MARIN OSTREA
Marine terrazzo tabletop in recycled seashells ostrea
Transform your home with a recycled seashell terrazzo tabletop. Each year, the French shellfish industry generates 250,000 tons of shells, 95% of which end up in landfills. Ostrea harnesses this resource to create a high-performance material: 65% scallop or oyster shell flakes + 35% mineral matrix, resin-free.
Three Materials, One Mineral Signature
Natural Scallop: Luminous ivory terrazzo flecked with pearlescent micro-fragments. An ultra-fine texture reminiscent of Venetian terrazzo, offering understated sophistication. A subtle iridescence that captures the light.
Natural Oyster: Elegant pearl-grey terrazzo with silvery highlights. Nordic freshness, with micro-flakes creating an almost monochrome texture. Refinement through restraint.
Black Scallop: Deep black terrazzo punctuated by cream fragments. Maximum sophistication with a bold graphic presence. Discreet, quasi-monochrome luxury.
Uniqueness
Each tabletop is unique: slight color variations may occur due to the natural properties of the shell flakes.
Performance Comparable to Natural Stone With a density of 2200-2400 kg/m³, this marine composite offers the performance of marble or traditional terrazzo:
Heat resistance up to 180°C (SGS/INSA Rennes tests)
Impact and scratch resistance: 5/5 rating (EN 12720)
48-hour stain resistance (coffee, wine, oil)
UV stability without alteration
Satin polished surface, cool mineral feel
