MŪRA SANKIRA
Porcelain stoneware wall/floor tiles with concrete effect
Mūra is Ariostea’s porcelain stoneware project that creates an unprecedented visual imaginary of concrete. Presented as an understated element – visible, measured and vital, the intent is to pay tribute to an artistic current of the 1950s, which experimented with materials used solely in construction, such as cement and iron rods, to be protagonists of sculptural works.
The three shades of Lunara, Sankira and Ramia operate on the value of cement, deepening its character, avoiding artifice or overwhelming in a way that would divert from its authenticity. The surface veining enrich the material, recalling the characteristic bubbles that emerge and burst during the drying process.
With its variations in Ultra, Classics and CM2 Outdoor sizes and three finishes – Natural, Natural Plus and Antislip – it is designed for indoor and outdoor projects and to respond to various scales of operation. Its versatility also renders this material perfectly compatible with the other references in the Ariostea catalogue, both in the Ultra line and the Traditional line, offering endless possibilities in terms of composition and customisation.
The Classics sizes offer more traditional dimensions (100x100 cm, 120x60 cm, 60x60 cm), available in 6 mm and 8 mm thicknesses. The Natural Plus finish gives the concrete a tactile softness, rendering it perfect for residential environments such as living rooms, bathrooms and kitchens, but also for offices and public spaces. The line is enriched by the Tessura decoration, which introduces a discrete graphic element, reminiscent of the footprints left by the formwork, generating a texture similar to that of a metallic grey.
