ARTE VENEZIANA ALICUDI Wood veneer chest of drawers

Alicudi is a chest of drawers.‎ Ash veneered plywood structure with titanium metallic lacquer.‎ Metal profiles with brushed black nickel finish.‎ Top, sides and 6 drawers decorated with Stromboli finish.‎ Extra-clear tempered glass legs with LED lighting.‎ With provision for wall mounting.‎ The Journey in Paesaggi Italiani lands on the island of Stromboli.‎ Of the Aeolian archipelago, Stromboli is the most striking volcanic island.‎ I wanted to portray this landscape through a surface of silvery ripples on deep blue.‎ Then spurts of light on an intense, dense background.‎ A set of nuances and colours that take us into a dreamlike state, into the time of myth.‎ I wanted to imprint on a single sheet of glass everything one sees when looking at the sea from a motionless boat in front of the breathtaking Sciara Del Fuoco.‎ In these magical places, all the elements of nature come together and create a burst of colour and light that cannot be painted or photographed.‎ These are chromatic emotions that could only be imprinted and memorised on a glass surface.‎ An abstract painting dominated by the light of a volcanic event that has just passed.‎ Stillness has just returned.‎ Further info from manufacturer on ALICUDI ARTE VENEZIANA
