Danese Milano KINTSUGI Ash serving bowl

Kintsugi is a bowl made of ash wood and brass joints.‎ The Kintsugi collection begins with fragments of wood joined using simple screws.‎ Two walnut plates and an ash bowl come together like pieces of a puzzle.‎ These small constructions only take on meaning once assembled, drawing inspiration from the ancient Japanese technique of Kintsugi, where cracks in broken objects are not concealed but highlighted.‎ This approach gives value to the manual act of care and repair, restoring dignity and meaning to the object.‎ Assembling the fragments calls for patience and precision, with no reliance on technology.‎ The process encourages a calm, accepting state of mind, as the result takes shape gradually, step by step.‎ Further info from manufacturer on KINTSUGI Danese Milano
