Handmade terracotta floor/wall tiles
When you enter churches and ancient palaces in our territory, you often come across marvellous Terracotta floors.
These are very special terracotta floors, a deep pinkish colour and interwoven with small fragments ranging from ivory to terracotta-coloured.
These terracotta floors tell the story of everyday craftsmanship, made by mixing the main local clays that contained everything nature had to offer: impurities, fragments of different clays, small pebbles... Thus, what was once simply the fruit of what the soil offered, was transformed over the centuries into a very precise material, as part of a code, capable of providing us with the historical period of reference of the construction itself.
After centuries, we decided to give a new voice to our historical Terracotta.
This Terracotta was created to be aesthetically similar to the Terracotta of our ancestors, but loaded with all the pluses of CottoZero.
Such a precious Terracotta with such a special colour could only be inspired by a woman and a love story; thus, in our kilns "reborn" the historical Piedmontese Terracotta dedicated to the "Bella Rusin".
CottoZero: handmade Terracotta as it was once made.
CottoZero is a project born out of the Ramazzotti family's desire to transform handmade Terracotta into a high-performance material suited to the rhythms and needs of contemporary life.
The raw materials were the first object of study.
The precious clays with which CottoZero is made come from the Piedmontese deposits at the foot of Monte Rosa, quarried within the UNESCO Sesia Val Grande Geopark, a unique place precisely because of its geological formation, rich in many deposits of pure clays with great differences.
This careful research, starting with the quality and characteristics of the raw materials, continues with the analysis and optimisation of all the production phases. For this reason, TerracottaZero is today a high-performance handmade Terracotta that is unique on the market; compact, resistant, breathable, highly resistant to stains and easy to maintain.
CottoZero combines the beauty and naturalness of a handmade material with the practicality and taste of a contemporary material.
