Effepi MATERIA Freestanding carbon steel washbasin

Materia is a freestanding washbasin that introduces the collection and it appears as a minimal sculpture, whose strength lies in the details.‎ Carbon steel, chosen for its robustness and mutable nature, is treated with a protective finish that does not erase imperfections but enhances them.‎ Each surface reveals veins, marks, and shades that make every piece unique and unrepeatable, like a canvas painted by time.‎ A subtle resin finish preserves this fragile beauty, protecting it without concealing it and allowing the material to remain the protagonist.‎ Completing the composition is a top in Carrara Gioia marble, a pure and luminous material, always a symbol of elegance and Italian identity.‎ Its white surface, crossed by delicate silver veins, engages with the steel in a play of contrasts between lightness and solidity, light and shadow, refinement and strength.‎ From this dialogue, at once tense and balanced, a timeless harmony is born.‎ The cylindrical form, rigorous and simple, is a primordial image.‎ There is no search for ornament, only the desire to reach the essential and a balance between function and poetry.‎ The washbasin is not just a useful object.‎ It furnishes, tells, and conveys a feeling.‎ Its presence in space is discreet and profound, an accent that changes the rhythm of the environment and makes it unique.‎
