Fermob SURPRISING TEAK Sled base chair
SURPRISING TEAK is a cousin of the SURPRISING chair – the steel version that made its debut in 2011. This new piece embodies Fermob’s propensity for working with different materials and its ambition to bring magic into people’s gardens. Surprising Teak is a triumphant combination of materials.
But it’s much more than that. The chair is the outcome of extensive design and production work in partnership with Vlaemynck – a long-standing expert in teak. The result is a joy to behold – a bold alliance between sturdy metal and velvety-smooth teak that exudes warmth.
Frame: Steel rod
Seat: Teak slats (natural, non-oiled, grade C)
Backrest: Teak slats (natural, non-oiled, grade C)
Stacking capacity: 7
SURPRISING, by Harald Guggenbichler and Fermob, is a garden furniture range bursting with simplicity, elegance and finesse. The collection is notable for the aesthetic harmony between the wirework frame and ultra-fine fabric. The pieces are made from a one-piece wirework, a hallmark of the designer, which fashions its inimitable silhouette – airy and voluminous with as little material as possible.
The range’s seats are a feat of prowess: comfortable, sleek and ultra-sturdy thanks to the flexibility and robustness of steel and some clever ergonomic design
