IDB FORBEAM - Боковая балка для мостового настила
New targets (road and rail infrastructure, major bridge projects, tunnels, and high-speed rail lines) require a new management strategy for both product quality control and management, as well as for its regulatory and specification compliance. These strategies require a combination of extremely high product reliability, a process of experimentation, and a focus on cost-effectiveness, driven by the large numbers involved.
It is within this framework that IDB strives to evolve traditional production processes using continuous track-based vibrocompactors, such as innovative box-shaped bridge beams for road decks and infrastructure that enable the production of large volumes of concrete with reduced labor requirements thanks to the automation of the various production phases: reinforcement, casting, processing, cutting, and storage.
FORBEAM elements (FORBEAM-T, with protruding Top reinforcement) are prestressed box-shaped elements with bonded strands, with minimal shear reinforcement in the vertical ribs and minimum rib dimensions in compliance with UNI EN 15050 "Precast concrete products – Bridge elements." They are therefore suitable for use in road decks.
Factory production allows for rigorous quality control, ensuring consistent technical parameters and reliable production times. Furthermore, FORBEAM products are CE marked, in compliance with harmonized industry standards.
The high production capacity in the factory translates into a dual advantage: reduced construction times and a reduced impact of the construction site on the operational environment.
FORBEAM box-shaped elements are also particularly strategic for covering cut-and-cover tunnels, where the use of self-supporting elements with flat intrados and extrados is required. Once installed, they allow for immediate installation of additional reinforcement, without the need for lightweight elements between the beams.
The flat upper surface simplifies all subsequent pouring operations, making the roof immediately accessible to vehicles.
Even at the wall-floor connection, the reinforcement protruding from the wall at the top, combined with the additional lower and upper reinforcement provided where the panels rest, allows for the creation of a semi-interlocking connection.
Thanks to the simplicity of the installation operations, each assembly team is able to install 20-30 panels per day. This efficiency translates into a more rational construction site organization, with precise and optimized execution times.
