LD Seating’s Terra Lounge is a new soft seating series designed with Orlandini Design Studio, brings comfort, design and recyclability into a continuous form. The collection offers a versatile seating solution for workplaces, hospitality settings and contemporary interiors. At the core of Terra Lounge is a construction that moves away from conventional layering. The armchair is formed from two polyurethane shells combined with different foam densities, creating a seating experience that is both soft and supportive. The central area allows the body to settle naturally, while firmer zones provide structure and stability. Selected high-back versions incorporate a discreet rocking mechanism, adding gentle movement that enhances comfort over longer periods of use.
This approach is visible in the overall shape of Terra Lounge. Rather than a clear division between seat and backrest, Terra Lounge is formed as one continuous shape, with side panels that double as armrests. This gives the chair an elegant, recognisable silhouette while supporting the body in a natural and balanced way. Upholstery options extend its versatility, allowing different materials, colours and finishes to adapt the chair to a variety of interior concepts. Designed to perform across multiple settings, Terra Lounge is suited for workplace lounges, hospitality environments and private interiors. The collection includes armchairs in two heights, three base options and a matching footrest, offering flexibility for both design and function.
Terra Lounge is designed with sustainability in mind. By removing metal inserts and working entirely with polyurethane, the chair can be easily disassembled and recycled at the end of its life. Advances in material processing now make it possible to reuse recycled polyurethane in the production of both rigid and flexible components, supporting a more circular use of the material. Much of this production is carried out in-house in Boskovice, Czech Republic, allowing for greater control over quality while keeping the manufacturing process local.
