In the Atelier Désir collection, the harmonious proportions of narrower, elongated strips that characterised some ancient wooden floors, where long-linear planks stretched and melted together into an original fabric, are revived.‎ Today, Désir re-proposes those particular compositional harmonies by reinterpreting them through some skilful Heritage finishes, which enrich the material with a gentle effect of natural thermo-treatment, to fully enjoy all the authenticity of wood.‎ In fact, désir, with its ductility, is easily moulded to a classic taste just as it does not clash if it comes into contact with a contemporary style and, in the eclecticism that characterises today's interior decoration, it goes well with both designer furniture with clean lines and vintage pieces.‎ The versatility of its warm tones on an oak base - comparable to the creative potential of a sketched canvas, yet to be painted - brings together lovers of the ‘retro’ style, planners, architects and designers who are inclined to range and navigate between even very different styles: from country chic to the degree zero of certain Scandinavian interiors, as well as the proponents of the Japan style where the must is to furnish in purity, subtracting instead of adding, abstracting colours and tinsel: a trend that involves not only the living or sleeping area but can flow into unusual areas such as the kitchen and bathroom perhaps embellished with super-technological accessories, or, with a twist of the tail, go up on the wall.‎ Finishes Invisible Touch A water-based, air-dried finish that protects the wood while retaining the typical look and feel of an untreated surface.‎ The finish uses Crystalcare antibacterial technology.‎ Selections Esprit Mixed grain, natural unevenness of tone, marked and widespread presence of filled or open cracks, as well as adhering, established or only partially closed knots.‎ Elegant Mixed grain.‎ The strips may show colour variegations and small knots.‎ In large-size strips (width from 140 mm upwards) the knots may also be consolidated or partially filled.‎ Further info from manufacturer on DÉSIR CIVITA 1695 Listone Giordano
