AXIA expands Lodes' aesthetic vocabulary with a stand-alone suspension lamp with a striking presence, in which decorative elements, light and technology merge in a subtle and continuous gesture: a lamp that reminds us that every form of clarity always stems from a principle of balance.‎ Before being an object, AXIA is an idea: a small system of order and freedom in which rigour meets lightness and technology becomes narrative.‎ A lamp capable of illuminating a space with its mere presence, even when switched off.‎ Behind the design is the vision of Vittorio Venezia and Carolina Martinelli, who reinterpret the archetype of the chandelier through contemporary sensibility, transforming it into an object where light, form and technology find a new balance.‎ In ancient Greek, “axia” means value, but also axis, that which supports, unites and gives meaning.‎ The central axis of the lamp is the conductor that houses the positive and negative poles, the measure that holds matter and light together, ensuring the continuity of the circuit and the stability of the whole.‎ From this insight, everything develops, evolves and is constructed: technology becomes invisible, function is transformed into a decorative feature and becomes an integral part of the form.‎ Lodes has translated the project into a continuous design, in which the central axis tapers to convey a sense of balance and lightness.‎ From here, the arms branch out like elements that connect with each other, creating a lighting system that enhances the design and shape.‎ The high, diffused light output amplifies the perception of light that embraces the space with natural elegance.‎ AXIA is available in a single size – approximately 80 cm – and in two metallic finishes that define its personality: Polished Bronze, which enhances the warm and decorative component of the light, and Black Chrome, which highlights its contemporary character.‎ The PVD finish is not only aesthetic but also functional: the coating process of the lamp body modifies the surface of the stainless steel itself, allowing the transmission of electrical polarities without the use of cables to preserve the visual purity of the design.‎ The colour comes from the material itself, it is not applied, so the metal breathes and vibrates, as if reflecting its own magnetic field.‎ Designed for large residential spaces, such as living and dining rooms, where it becomes a visual focal point in the centre of the room or above a table, AXIA also finds its place in contract and hospitality contexts, from lobbies to lounge areas, where it furnishes with a strong yet discreet presence that never becomes intrusive.‎ Alone or in combination with two or more elements, it creates evocative and contemporary atmospheres, diffusing a soft and comfortable light.‎ Further info from manufacturer on AXIA LODES
