TERRACOTTO
Porcelain stoneware flooring with terracotta effect
Terracotto is born from the rediscovery of one of the oldest and most universal materials in architecture: earth shaped by hand, dried by time and transformed by fire. An essential material, deeply rooted in the building tradition, reinterpreted through a contemporary language while preserving its authentic charm and expressive richness.
The collection, made with 60% recycled material, draws inspiration from traditional handcrafted terracotta, reinterpreting the traces of manual workmanship and firing through a surface characterized by nuances, chromatic variations and subtle irregularities that express its authentic character.
The traditional aesthetic of terracotta is reimagined through a contemporary palette: Vanilla, Argilla, Tabacco, Terra, Granata and Cotto, shades ranging from luminous neutrals to richer, deeper colours, moving beyond the most conventional imagery associated with this material.
Available in three modular sizes and in an outdoor version, Terracotto invites experimentation with different compositions and geometric patterns. From the most essential surfaces to multi-format installations, the collection enables the creation of spaces with an authentic yet contemporary character.
Its natural materiality finds a complement in the Terralux collection, with which it shares an inspiration rooted in ceramic tradition, reinterpreted through the language of glaze and colour. The combination of Terracotto's matte surfaces with Terralux's glossy textures makes it possible to develop compositions rich in nuances, contrasts and personality.
Part of the Crogiolo project, Terracotto fully expresses Marazzi's research into industrial craftsmanship: a synthesis of heritage and innovation, where the primordial strength of earth meets the design possibilities of contemporary ceramics.
