Milani HIBI SOFT Fabric armchair with armrests on pedestal base

The HIBI armchair in the Hibi Soft version is upholstered with a cushion and is available with: a 4-legged metal base a 4-legged wooden base pyramidal base nylon pyramid-shaped base swivel base.‎ Designed by Margherita Rui, the Hibi chair — from the Japanese ‘⽇々’, which literally means ‘day after day’ — adapts effortlessly to any type of setting: from commercial to residential, from workspaces to the intimacy of the home.‎ A synthesis of delicacy, strength and visual lightness, the Hibi design stands out for its slender shell, which evokes the subtle yet defined folds of origami.‎ The shell combines with all the bases in the modular collection to create configurations suitable for a wide variety of settings: star base, pedestal with 4 or 5 castors, pyramidal base, and four-legged frame in metal or wood.‎ Hibi is designed to be fully removable and dismantlable: every component can be separated and recycled at the end of the product’s life cycle.‎ The studs securing the upholstery can be unscrewed, recycled or reused, whilst the shell and wooden frame are designed to be easily dismantled, separating the metal from the wood.‎ A design approach that makes sustainability an intrinsic value, rather than merely an added bonus.‎ Hibi is the result of a long-standing collaboration between Margherita Rui and Milani, which has already led to the creation of products such as Plot and Bakku.‎ A design dialogue based on mutual trust, active listening and a shared vision: to create objects capable of embodying the present and standing the test of time.‎ With Hibi, this collaboration opens a new chapter that further explores the relationship between technical innovation, aesthetic language and environmental responsibility.‎ A perfect blend of delicacy and strength, Hibi represents an ideal synthesis of the company’s expertise and a contemporary design vision, in which design, comfort, sustainability and modernity coexist in harmony, conveying a coherent and evolving identity that speaks to both contract and residential contexts with equal ease.‎ Further info from manufacturer on HIBI SOFT Milani
