Nikari KONSTRUKTIO Oak bench with back

It is the magical midsummer time here in Fiskars and we wanted to celebrate the nightless night by telling you about a new product.‎‎ The idea of the KONSTRUKTIO bench first came to Kari Virtanen's mind during his recent travels in Japan.‎‎ He has always worked with solid wood and aimed at the best possible combinations of traditional wooden joints and contemporary forms of today.‎‎ With KONSTRUKTIO bench he wanted to develop a modern wooden joint; a simple, delicate solution that would also be easily adapted to production.‎‎ The bench is designed together with textile designer Johanna Gullichsen, who worked with the seat upholstery and fabric details, following Kari Virtanen's philosophy of simplicity and functionality.‎‎ The soft yet firm seat upholstery is manufactured using coconut fibre, wool and cotton.‎‎ Johanna Gullichsen also created new, natural Triton fabric tones.‎‎ Materials: ash, birch, oak.‎‎ Surface finish: natural wood oil mixture.‎ Optional seat pad: Upholstery fabric Triton Moss JGFC1001203 by Johanna Gullichsen including the belts and the coconut fibre matress.‎ Further info from manufacturer on KONSTRUKTIO Nikari
