VIBRA
Panel for furniture and wall panelling
With VIBRA, Novamobili introduces a new design element conceived to enhance the tactile and perceptual dimensions of contemporary interiors. More than just a covering, the VIBRA panel treats the vertical surface as a dynamic material, capable of creating depth, rhythm and interaction with light. The texture is formed by a sequence of vertical slats of varying widths, which alternate between raised and recessed sections, creating a complex interplay of light and shadow. The result is a visual pattern with a strong graphic impact, capable of altering the perception of volumes and lending a three-dimensional quality to furnishings, from panelling to the fronts of wardrobes, bookcases and storage units, right through to the Limen door frame. The effect is that of a vibrant surface, capable of interacting with both natural and artificial light, and of introducing an essential yet highly expressive aesthetic into the home. The slatted effect thus takes on a new interpretation: less decorative, more architectural, calibrated to a rigorous balance between texture, proportion and formal continuity. From a construction point of view, VIBRA highlights Novamobili’s design focus on detail and the quality of workmanship. The veneered and solid wood versions, constructed on a chipboard base, feature a bespoke edging on all four sides, designed to enhance the material continuity of the wood grain. The lacquered variants, on the other hand, are built on an MDF core with an acrylic sheet coating and Laccoboard technology, a solution that allows for a virtually invisible joint between the front and the edge, reinforcing the geometric purity of the design. The panel is available in different thicknesses depending on the application: 22 mm for doors, 18 mm for panelling and 30 mm for the Limen passage door, where the VIBRA texture is applied only to the front whilst the reverse remains smooth. Particularly interesting is the possibility of combining VIBRA with completely smooth surfaces, creating a refined textural contrast that emphasises the interplay between solid and void, light and shadow, texture and monochrome. This solution expands the compositional possibilities of the Novamobili system and offers designers and architects a versatile tool for creating interiors with a contemporary, sophisticated and sensory aesthetic.
