Petite Friture
SANDOWS - ARMCHAIR WITH WOODEN ARMRESTS
Steel armchair with wooden armrests
The Sandows armchair was designed by René Herbst. Petite Friture pays tribute to him by reissuing this chair, bringing it back into the heart of contemporary interiors.
Its chrome-plated tubular steel frame and tensioners create a minimalist, graphic seat with a light visual appearance, adding a distinctive finish: wide armrests in black lacquered oak veneer. Between modernist rigor, the flexibility of the tensioners, and the warmth of the wood, it exudes an elegant, modern, and subtly contrasting presence.

The first re-edition by Petite Friture, the Sandows collection—originally designed by René Herbst in 1927—embodies a radical and timeless approach to seating. Chair N°212, the armchair with wooden armrests, and the Daybed N°114 make up this iconic ensemble, in which chromed tubular steel structures and elastic cords are the only elements required for design, function, and comfort. An iconic collection, synonymous with lightness and formal clarity, naturally reintroduced into the heart of contemporary interiors.
