PIGMENTS - GRAIN
Printed carpeting
The pattern Grain is presented in four colour variations inspired by natural tones: green, beige, sand and burgundy. The design draws inspiration from the most subtle dimension of pigment itself: the grain. Small, precise and ordered elements come together across the textile surface to create an original texture. Like particles of colour settling and layering over time, these grains compose a pattern whose perception shifts with distance and light, revealing a surface rich in unexpected nuances.
Pigments is a printed collection that explores colour as a living material: layered tones, overlaps and different gestures become a language of their own, transforming pigment into a graphic trace.
Blots, veils, dots and interlacings unfold across the surface like motifs suspended between expressive freedom and ordered composition. Each design emerges from the encounter between marks and colours that blend together, giving the textile surface rhythm, depth and vibration.
The collection unfolds through five patterns, Grain, Cadence, Layer, Relief and Undertone, developed in a palette ranging from natural shades of green, beige and sand to deeper tones such as burgundy. At the core of the project lies a study of the ways pigment is applied in painting: layering, veiling, density and fading become compositional tools that transform the textile surface into an expressive field.
Colour is never flat or uniform, but takes shape through processes that recall both artistic and manual techniques, from the superimposition of brushstrokes to pointillist dispersion and material sedimentation. Each pattern interprets a different way of applying pigment, exploring the relationship between control and spontaneity, rhythm and density, surface and the depth of gesture. The result is a richly articulated decorative system in which each design, combined with a carefully curated colour palette, offers a distinct visual perception capable of engaging with space and transforming it.
