Juno is a freestanding Carrara marble washbasin.
This project grew out of a reflection on the human body and its domestic living.
The “nakedness” of the former and the “bathing area” of the latter were the key choices in the initial creative process.
However, it is thanks to the intensive observation of the Junoesque nudes of ‘The Turkish Bath’ by Ingres and the reading of the line ‘Nudity refreshes the soul’ by Alda Merini that this project turned into de-sign.
Last but not least, the choice of the female shape is meant to further amplify the dual ventral ratio in both its anatomical and washbasin function, that is to hold.
