SANDTEX SINOPIA
Creating walls to touch is the speciality of this interior wall plaster. The pleasantness of the natural colour of lime combined with an exclusive tactile sensation.
sandtex sinopia is a fine interior wall plaster you can see and touch.
This particular name originates from an ancient variety of red ochre from Sinope, a city and important port in Turkey on the Black Sea. Sinope, erected as a colony (Colonia Julia Felix Sinope) by Caesar in 47, soon achieved ancient prosperity based essentially on the trade in the products of the fertile hinterland, but above all on the marketing of red ochre, from which it took the name sinopia.
The name sinopia, explicitly referring to red earth, was also improperly used to refer to earth of another colour. In the past, sinopia was the preparatory drawing for frescoes and wall paintings, usually executed on the wall using sinopia. The sinopia served the artist in the first phase of his work and was therefore of fundamental importance. In recent times, the study of sinopia has been re-evaluated, as it allows us to recover documents of high cultural value.
sandtex sinopia, referring to the ancient techniques of production and application of lime hydrate-based plasters, restores to the treated surfaces chromatic richness, softness and reflections of colour typical of traditional applications. Its velvety feel engages the observer in a captivating multi-sensorial experience.
