HIRI
Rectangular striped fabric rug
The rug Hiri, the City, evokes a landscape seen from the sky, where the contours of a city blend into those of the surrounding territory.
Its irregular and deliberately interrupted lines recall the spontaneous strokes of a hand drawing, a sensitive sketch of an imaginary city. The rigor of the urban plan is softened here, and reliefs are created by a play of shapes and lines. The complex and subtle blend of wool, linen, and Tencel, combined with variations in textures and heights, creates a surface rich in nuances. The solid areas, voids, and irregularities bring light and vibrancy to the design. The distinctive carving reveals the full richness of this composition, making Hiri an artisan rug of beautiful sophistication.
The Ederra collection draws inspiration from Basque iconography and culture, offering a free and unique reinterpretation. Sunny and graphic, Ederra offers a contemporary range in terms of both patterns and shapes. The collection evokes the architecture of narrow streets, traditional houses, Basque pelota, the ocean, and its magnificent sunsets. Each rug bears a Basque name with a meaning reminiscent of its inspiration. Natural materials are used to reflect preserved nature, and artisanal craftsmanship is highlighted through shapes and texture effects. With this new collection, Serge Lesage establishes a creative style imbued with modernity and originality.
