POROTON® 800 lightweight clay elements, characterised by a gross volumetric mass of approximately 800-860 kg/m3, are suitable for use in the construction of load-bearing walls in any seismic zone. Current legislation classifies Poroton P800 bricks as "semi-solid" (perforation percentage ≤ 45%), to be installed with vertical holes, which provide breaking resistance values that are well above the limits required by the legislation itself. POROTON® 800 blocks are produced in various sizes and thicknesses, both "smooth" and "interlocking". The physical-geometric characteristics of the semi-solid POROTON® 800 blocks comply with the requirements established by the "Technical Standards for Construction" (N.T.C. D.M. 17/01/2018) also with regard to the additional requirements provided for the masonry materials to be used for seismic design, being characterised in particular by:
• continuous and rectilinear partitions arranged parallel to the plane of the wall (except for interruptions permitted in correspondence with any grip holes);
• characteristic compressive strength of the elements in the vertical direction fbk ≥ 5 N/mmq and orthogonal in the plane of the wall f'bk ≥ 1.5 N/mmq. The thicknesses of the blocks range from 25 cm up to a maximum of 45 cm, supplied with special pieces.
