Sicilferro - Trave reticolare SER
ANOTHER GREAT SUCCESS FOR QUALITY, INNOVATION AND RESEARCH SIGNED BY Sicilferro.
Sicilferro has obtained authorisation to use S.E.R. lattice girders in accordance with 4.6 of Ministerial Decree 14.1.2008. First certification in ITALY.
The Trave reticolare SER, is built with controlled and certified steel, assembled with all quality and safety standards, which is why it guarantees a perfect distribution of the irons, preventing any errors during assembly.
The different types of Trave Reticolare SER allow for the optimal sizing of structures, improving the use of interior spaces and facilitating the installation of the structure itself.
Trave reticolare SER withstands high loads due to its advanced engineering design: its low thickness allows for better room design and, in combination with lightweight polystyrene slabs, realises high span lengths.
Improves the seismic response and the particularly small dimensions of the beam-pillar joints, in the event of an earthquake allow for a better distribution of stresses so that not all the stresses are discharged onto the pillars of the first elevation and dissipate energy deck by deck.
CHARACTERISTICS AND PERFORMANCE
For high span lengths
The Trave reticolare SER (Simple, Economical, Fast) consists of a steel bottom plate and a grid of rods that replace the beams and brackets. It is self-supporting in the casting phase and allows high span widths to be obtained with reduced beam dimensions: with considerable savings, both in the material used and in the labour required to assemble the structures. The Trave reticolare SER is built in the workshop with controlled and certified steel, assembled with all quality and safety standards, and therefore the perfect distribution of the irons prevents any type of error during assembly. The beam undergoes a treatment on the underside of the plate to avoid problems of oxidation and plaster adhesion over time.
Improves architectural results
The different types of Trave reticolare SER allow for the optimal dimensioning of structures and improve the use of interior spaces, facilitating the passage of systems and overhead piping without excessive lowering of ceilings. Trave reticolare SER withstands high loads due to its advanced engineering design: its low thickness allows for better room design and, in combination with lightweight polystyrene slabs, realises high span lengths. This feature allows for greater architectural freedom as many beams can be placed within the structure without increasing the horizontal dimensions disproportionately; moreover, with the same dimensions, the span between the columns can be increased.
Improves seismic response
The particularly small size of the beam-pillar joints, in the event of an earthquake, allows for a better distribution of stresses so that not all the stresses are discharged onto the pillars of the first elevation and the energy is dissipated deck by deck.
Easy to install, lowers installation costs
The Trave reticolare SER is produced to order and assembled in the factory in accordance with elaborate statistical calculations: this gives the professional and the contractor the certainty of correct arrangement of the reinforcements. The use of the Trave reticolare SER considerably eliminates the bulk and cost of setting up the structure due to the speed of installation, safety and simplicity compared to any other traditional system. The Trave reticolare SER is simple and quick to install, withstands first-phase loads (people, irons, etc.), and prevents errors and loss of time. It is connected to the nodes by means of additional reinforcement and is completed with the concrete casting.
ASSEMBLY DIAGRAMS
The assembly of the SER Reticular Beams allows, due to the design characteristics, to have only round bars at the node without the intrusion of the bottom metal sheet: this allows the joint to be totally wetted with concrete, an indispensable condition to guarantee a correct reaction of the structure in the event of an earthquake.

CONSTRUCTION DETAILS
Trave reticolare SER trusses are marked in the workshop with the numbers of the uprights on which they are to rest: the sequence in which they are to be assembled guarantees the correct assembly to the Director of Works.
Trave reticolare SER Beams, in the lower part, are treated in the factory with an antioxidant and aggrappante component for anchoring the plaster: this avoids the need for further treatments on site for finishing processes.
Trave Reticolare SER Beams are limited in their maximum deflection during the calculation phase: this characteristic is highlighted by the calculation sheet and the tests performed on the beam.
