A textile tribute to Decorative Arts, between graphic rigor and material voluptuousness. Cadence embodies one of the highlights of the new Toulemonde Bochart collection. The rug follows the great principles of the Decorative Arts movement: a taste for structured motifs, geometric rigor, exaltation of noble materials, and a sense of formal refinement. Conceived as a textile painting, it explores an aesthetic between Art Deco and ornamental modernism. Ellipses, taut lines, and interlocking volumes recall the stylised compositions of Jean Dunand or the abstract marquetry of Ruhlmann, here transposed into the textile realm. The rhythm of the design, built like a musical score, evokes the dynamism of the applied arts: every colour and texture resonates with the others. Hand-tufted, Cadence combines velvet wool and textured loops in a subtle play of contrasting surfaces. This artisanal mastery highlights the raw beauty of the material while expressing a contemporary elegance.
