Designed by Sebastian Herkner, TERRE is an electric radiator that interprets heat through the language of matter, transforming a technical element into a sculptural presence with a strong decorative impact.‎ The heating body is made of terracotta obtained from a fine clay sourced exclusively from the quarry in Impruneta, in the Tuscan Chianti region.‎ The extrusion process gives the radiator an authentic texture and material aesthetic that clearly distinguishes it from traditional metal heating systems.‎ The bright and uniform enamelled surface allows slight variations and micro-porosity to emerge, testifying to the natural origin of the material.‎ Characteristics that make each element unrepeatable and contribute to the distinctive value of the design.‎ TERRE is available in the finishes Bianco Vetroso, Marrone Corteccia, Grigio Minerale, Blu Oceano and in the transparent version, which enhances the original colour of the terracotta.‎ Inside the radiant body is integrated a recycled and recyclable aluminium structure, designed and developed by Tubes, which houses a 220/240 V electrical resistance equipped with a safety thermostat, designed to maintain a constant temperature and optimise energy consumption.‎ The essential configuration, without accessories, can be combined with a shelf available in White Carrara marble, Black Marquina marble or matt painted MDF in different shades.‎ Thanks to its compact proportions and vertical development, TERRE finds its place not only in the bathroom but also in living rooms, entrances and passage spaces.‎ In these configurations, the shelf adds a practical function, transforming itself into a handy emptying tray or shelf for small everyday objects.‎ The Elements collection is the expression of a desire to eliminate stereotypes and pre-established industrial design processes.‎‎ In a society that is free from conditioning, objects - whatever kind they may be - can “release themselves” too; that is to say, they can eliminate technical aesthetics and undergo design modifications.‎‎ So freeing a radiator from its valves and position these at a distance of as much as six metres, thanks to a patented built-in unit, is equivalent to freeing it from its typical technical appearance.‎‎ This brings about new possibilities of interpretation of form according to aesthetic-intellectual rules that differ from previous ones.‎‎ For this reason, along with the Basics and Extras collections, the company introduced the Elements collection, created by architects and designers of international renown.‎‎ Elements becomes a “container of ideas” where the designers are called upon to create radiators that are more closely linked with the aesthetics of the home, where the sensual warmth of heating products is integrated into the architectural space with the same dignity and importance in project terms as other contemporary interior decoration elements.‎‎ Further info from manufacturer on TERRE Tubes
