VAGA RASA+ - Выравнивающий состав
RASA+ is a single-component, water-repellent, fine-grained, grey, normal-hardening cementitious smoothing mortar based on special high-strength binders, selected aggregates, special additives and powdered synthetic polymers. The special composition gives the mortar, obtained by mixing RASA+ with water only, high adhesive power, high smoothness when applied with a smooth trowel and facilitates finishing operations with a metal trowel or sponge trowel.
YIELD
Approx. 1.3 Kg x m2 x mm of finishing.
PACKAGING
RASA+ is supplied in 25 kg sacks on a 2-way pallet of 1500 kg (equivalent to 60 sacks).
FIELDS OF USEORASA+
is ideal for smoothing cementitious and cement-lime mortar plaster, concrete elements, old quartz paint, indoors and outdoors. RASA+ can be used as it is, or mixed with FIBROstabilitura VAGA or BIOstabilitura VAGA, depending on the application required. The USE TABLE summarises the main applications and their dosages.
Some application examples:
- High-performance stabilising skimming and finishing of masonry, concrete or cellular concrete walls, cementitious or cement-lime mortar plaster (even in the presence of hygroscopic shrinkage cracks) both indoors and outdoors, before painting;
- Creation of breathable plaster finishes, ready to be painted with breathable paints, both indoors and outdoors (mix 1 part RASA+ with 4 parts FIBROstabilitura or BIOstabilitura VAGA).
- Smoothing of walls, even over existing paints such as washable acrylics, quartz paints, plastic coatings etc. as long as they are consistent, clean and well anchored.
- Skimming of gypsum-based plaster or plasterboard panels (any gypsum skim coats between panels must first be treated with Primer G from MAPEI SpA).
- Skimming wood mineral panels (such as Eraclit®).
RASA+ complies with the principles defined in EN 1504-9 ("Products and systems for protecting and repairing concrete structures: definitions, requirements, quality control and conformity assessment. General principles for the use of products and systems") and the minimum requirements of EN 1504-2 coating (C) according to principles MC and IR ("Concrete surface protection systems") and is classified as GP ("General purpose mortar for internal/external renders"), category CS IV, according to EN 998-1.
PRODUCT PREPARATIONPreparation
of pure RASA+:
Pour 5.25 - 6.0 litres of water into a suitable clean container and then slowly add, under mechanical agitation, the 25 kg bag of RASA+ . Mix thoroughly for a few minutes, taking care to remove any loose powder from the sides and bottom of the container. Mixing must continue until the mixture is completely homogeneous (total absence of lumps); for this operation it is very useful to use a mechanical stirrer with a low number of revolutions to avoid excessive air entrainment. Avoid preparing the mix manually.
Preparing the RASA+ mix with "FIBROstabilitura" or "BIOstabilitura" in a 1:1 ratio:
Pour 4.5 - 5 litres of water into a suitable clean container and then add a bag of "FIBROstabilitura" or "BIOstabilitura", then slowly add the bag of RASA+ under mechanical agitation. Stir thoroughly for a few minutes.
Preparing the RASA+ mix with "FIBROstabilising" or "BIOstabilising" in a 1:3 ratio:
Pour 5.5 - 6 litres of water into a suitable clean container and then add 3 bags of "FIBROstabilising" or "BIOstabilising", then slowly add, under mechanical agitation, the bag of RASA+ . Stir carefully for a few minutes.
APPLICATIONThe
surfaces to be treated must be perfectly clean and solid and, if the support consists of old paint, the latter must be consistent and well adhered to the support; it is therefore advisable to proceed with careful preparation of the support by mechanically removing all loose and detaching parts of the existing finishes and then wash all the surfaces to be treated with water in order to eliminate dusty residues that prevent proper adhesion. Before applying RASA+, wait until the superficial water film has disappeared or remove it with compressed air or dry rags.
If, after washing, the substrate tends to continue to "dust" and show a lack of cohesion on the surface, consolidate it by applying one of the primers from the MAPEI range (consult the Technical Assistance department). Spread the mortar with a smooth metal trowel on the prepared surface to a maximum thickness of 3 mm. The surface finish of RASA+ may be applied with the metal trowel itself or with a traditional wet sponge trowel a few minutes after application. During periods or in places characterised by high temperatures, windy and sunny days, it is advisable to spray water on the surface of the skim coat after it has set (i.e. when the material is no longer "impressionable" by applying light pressure with the fingers of the hand) and in the following days when the mortar has completely hardened to prevent rapid drying and subsequent hygrometric shrinkage from causing abnormal cracking.
