Very Wood ILIAS 02 Upholstered chair with armrests

This new seating system, designed by Gordon Guillaumier, explores the concept of the archetype through the relationship between wood and upholstery, resulting in three interpretations of a shared design principle: the balance between constructive essentiality, comfort and formal recognizability.‎  Ilias is developed around a sinuous wooden backrest that both supports and encloses the upholstery, creating a continuous dialogue between rigid and soft components.‎
