Designed by B.B.P.R. – Gian Luigi Banfi, Lodovico Barbiano di Belgiojoso, Enrico Peressutti and Ernesto Nathan Rogers – Elettra was conceived in the heart of post-war Milan’s reconstruction, a time when architecture and design became tools for cultural renewal. Within this context, between the Milan Triennale and the A.R. plan, a vision took shape that would leave a lasting mark on the history of Italian design.
In the 1950s, alongside domestic furniture, B.B.P.R. introduced new solutions for collective and professional spaces: the Elettra armchair stands as one of the most iconic expressions, combining structural rigor with formal lightness.
