THE SHINY BUGS
Ceramic sculpture
Bosa dresses up Warner Bros' official bunny mascot: The Shiny Bugs is a lively and shining special edition project designed by Vittorio Gennari for the 100th anniversary of the company, founded in 1923 by the four Warner brothers.
Warner Bros has chosen Bosa as a partner to celebrate an important event: the 100th anniversary of the Studios: Bugs Bunny, the mascot, becomes The Shiny Bugs, a sculpture made of refined ceramics.
For this co-branding special edition project that will be available for a limited time of two years, Vittorio Gennari reinterprets the character with a cheeky, amused and seemingly innocent attitude, designing a well-rounded figure rich of material textures, shiny colours and metallic finishes.
Cunning, funny and impertinent, Bugs Bunny is one the most recognizable and world-wide represented cinematic characters, long enough to have his own US postage stamp and a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. Even if his first appereance was in the end of the thirties, he is still a beloved icon by the new generations, that see him as a positive symbol of wit and intelligence.
To celebrate this occasion Bugs Bunny is dressed with elegance as suits his refined personality, showing off many details and shiny accessories, decorated with glossy glazes and precious metals that create a nice contrast between the fur parts with a delicate satin effect.
The details are redesigned by actualizing the history of the character. From the the golden gloves that resemble the yellow version worn by the first Bugs Bunny, to the fur on his paws as in the recent film Space Jam 2, a reboot of the 1996 cult movie set in the basketball universe that is quoted with with his big shoes designed with low-poly tecnique, a distinctive language of Vittorio Gennari.
The coat alternates blue – Warner Bros signature colour – and silver stripes and it is completed with a bow tie and a cummerbund. The eyes shine with the same colours of the Studios: blue and yellow.
The interior part of the ears is chrome pink and the whiskers are designed with a tridimensional texture that evokes the waves of the Looney Tunes logo, that it is also reprised in the green/blue tone of the paws.
Last detail: the pins on his lapel that report Warner Bros and Bosa's logos.
Colours: coloured glazes and precious metals
