The New York skyline in a sofa, from the genius of Gaetano Pesce.‎ Design becomes narrative in this visionary work that returns in a special series of 50 pieces.‎ This imaginative creation is a new chapter in a story begun in the 1980s with Tramonto a New York, the work with which Pesce surprised his adoptive city at sunset to then return the image through a series of spacious upholstered pieces arranged as if to reproduce its skyline.‎ The three-seat sofa combines eloquent energy and meticulous structural functionality.‎ The system comprises nine skyscraper-modules that serve as seats and armrests, joined to one another by fasteners.‎ The backrest portrays a giant full moon – through this work, Pesce reveals to the world its mysterious side, not visible from Earth.‎ Cassina reinterprets Notturno a New York in a version with a conscious soul.‎ The padding of the new edition is made of recycled PET fibre, introduced as standard in the upholstered pieces, and reducing to a minimum the use of polyurethane, crafted with a percentage of polyols derived from biological sources.‎ The upholstery is in an exclusive fabric with a design made specifically for this product.‎ Cassina designs complete, comfortable and inviting living spaces where the most innovative products of contemporary design coexist alongside icons by the great masters of the Modern Movement.‎ Further info from manufacturer on NOTTURNO A NEW YORK Cassina
