COPLAN RETARDER P

RETARDER P is a ready-to-use, water-based deactivating agent for positive concrete washing.‎ The ease of application and our pre- and after-sales technical service enable even non-specialised contractors to achieve a safe and economical result.‎ RETARDER P is applied by spray, roller or brush.‎ RETARDER P delays the surface curing of concrete, so the final result is highly dependent on ambient temperature, cement type, grain size curve, concrete consistency and quality, admixtures, etc.‎ Preliminary tests are recommended.‎ TECHNICAL DATA SHEET RETARDERP Aqueous retarder for the production of positively washed concrete RETARDER P is ready-to-use and is applied with an airless sprayer, roller or brush uniformly and opaquely on freshly poured concrete, the latter preferably free of bleeding.‎ To avoid excessive evaporation of the retarder due to heat or wind, it is sometimes necessary to cover the casting with a PVC sheet.‎ The washing depths obtained with the different versions of RETARDER P depend strongly on the type and dosage of cement, type and quantity of aggregate, consistency of the mix, type of curing and ambient temperatures.‎ Preliminary tests are recommended for all types of production and ambient conditions.‎ Washing can normally take place after 1-3 days.‎ Consumption approx.‎ 200 g/sq.‎m.‎ Shake well before use.‎ Delivery and storage RETARDER P is supplied in 5 kg buckets, 25 kg canisters and 120 kg drums.‎ Packages that have only been partially used should be closed carefully.‎ Store packages in a dry place and protected from frost.‎ Expiry date 12 months from date of delivery.‎ Warnings Protect skin and eyes.‎ Refer to DIN safety data sheet.‎ Versions See the table in the catalogue TENDER ITEM WASHEDARCHITECTURAL FLOORING Supply, transport and installation of a washed architectural flooring made from concrete: - possibly reinforced with fibres such as MULTIFIBRE PP at a rate of 2 kg/mc - possibly with BETOPACT F100 additive at a rate of 3 litres/mc - possibly coloured with BETONCOLOR liquid coloured pigments at a rate of 8 kg/mc.‎ RCK .‎.‎.‎.‎.‎.‎.‎, exposed gravel, cast on site, thickness cm.‎.‎.‎.‎.‎.‎.‎ (minimum recommended 8/10 cm.‎).‎ After creating the substrate, positioning the expansion joints and/or any inserts constituting the architectural motif in accordance with the specifications of the Works Director.‎ Preparation of the concrete in a truck-mixer or construction-site concrete mixer, designed with mix-design characteristics, nature and colour of aggregates to be accepted by the Works Supervisor after samples have been taken.‎ Laying, smoothing and eventual hand-smoothing of the mix, avoiding any type of vibration or stress which could cause the aggregates to sink, spray application with a suitable low-pressure pump of an even layer of surface deactivating product (such as COPLAN RETARDER P ), at a rate of 200 g.‎/m2.‎ The product, in addition to acting as an anti-evaporating protective agent, slows down the surface setting of the concrete of the pavement, and must be applied before it begins, immediately after casting and paving operations.‎ Washing the surface with plenty of cold water under pressure, to expose the aggregates, to be carried out after approximately 24 hours and, in any case, depending on the conditions of humidity, temperature, quantity and class of cement used.‎ Preliminary "in situ" tests are recommended in order to identify the suitable times according to the concrete used.‎ Once the concrete of the exposed gravel paving has matured, and at the Contracting Authority's sole discretion, the surface will be treated with suitable sealing products (such as COPLAN OS Premium or similar) to be charged separately.‎ The Contracting Authority may request, at its own discretion, tests on the paving and check the quality and dosage of the constituents.‎ The Contractor may also obtain from the Supplier of COPLAN products both the quality certification pursuant to ISO 9001:2008, and a declaration of conformity relative to the batch of material delivered each time; all this will be necessary to ensure that the work is completed in a workmanlike manner.‎
