CLARITY is an hand knotted rug in a wool and wool/silk mix.‎ Goodweave certified.‎ The soft pale colours in ‘Clarity’ represent quadrilateral glass panels.‎ Deirdre applies different hues to present the impression that they are overlaid upon one another.‎  The diaphanous nature of this design is achieved by Deirdre’s use of a 2/3 wool 1/3 silk mix in the central ‘layers’.‎ Deirdre has injected a totally fresh dimension into her 2023 collection, with ten new designs that celebrate the striking effect created by interplaying angles and linear shapes.‎ Her hand sketches were transposed with design technician Nichola into computer designs, Deirdre cleverly applying her eye for colour to turn them into designs that produce different illusions.‎ Such as, a three dimensional or transparent appearance, or to give a sense of depth and distance.‎ All in all, it’s a collection that Ancient Greek pioneers of trigonometry would be delighted by – as it artistically brings their theories to life!
