Rational rigour, perceptual lightness and precision of detail: the new Kumo dining table designed by Calvi and Brambilla features a rectangular top with rounded edges and a double base, consisting of two supporting elements joined by a movable joint. Organic abstraction and sculptural presence characterise the project, which thrives on the dynamic contrast between mass and void, balance and tension, in a continuous dialogue between autonomous forms. Available in all the marble colours of the Frigerio range, Kumo fills the space like a dance, evoking the fluid forms and bold colours of the sculptures of Calder and Henry Moore.
