Glacier is a rectangular low coffee table created by subjecting glass to a high-temperature fusion treatment.‎ The top is produced by fusing a shaped sheet of colored glass onto a sheet of extra-clear glass, resulting in an irregular texture that evokes the stratification of glaciers.‎ This process alters the perception of the material and enhances its relationship with light.‎ The glass loses its uniformity and gains a denser, more tactile presence, pushing the boundary between solidity and fluidity: the surfaces appear to melt where they meet the supporting structure, deforming and softly settling onto it.‎ The base, made of 12 mm fused and bonded transparent glass, enhances the top through its visual lightness.‎ Further info from manufacturer on GLACIER Glas Italia
