IDEAL WORK
IW-EC
Flooring protection
A concentrated, odourless, water-based polymeric liquid, IW-EC forms a continuous thin film that temporarily prevents the rapid loss of moisture from the surface of concrete, allowing subsequent smoothing and trowelling operations to take place without leaving any residue. By enhancing the hydration of the concrete, the surface is free of plastic shrinkage cracks and surface crusts.
Technical characteristicsThe
hydration process of cement is fundamental to making concrete a construction material. By this
process is meant that set of chemical reactions between cement and water, thanks to which concrete is transformed from an initially plastic mass, and therefore easily modelled, into a rigid and mechanically
very resistant material. As the chemical reaction between the water and the cement progresses, there is a gradual loss of the initial workability of the fresh concrete until the moment when the mixture is no longer mouldable (setting). If the loss of water can be slowed down, the setting process slows down, to
the advantage of greater workability of the material.
Europe's leading manufacturer of decorative concrete floors and plasters, IDEAL WORK
proposes a solution to maintain the humidity of concrete, delaying its setting.
It is no coincidence that in the U.S.A. it is called "the paver's friend": it is IW-EC (IDEAL WORK evaporation control), a unique product which, applied on fresh concrete, reduces evaporation
by up to 80%, slowing down setting and facilitating surface work and finishing.
