Stackable beech coffee table
780 / 783 are a system of coffee tables in beech wood lacquered in Apricot or Pinot Noir colours or painted in Walnut with a transparent varnish finish; tops in Smoke Grey float glass or two-tone laminate.
Designed in 1966 by Frattini for Cassina, this series of coffee tables soon became an emblem of 1960s design. Functional and versatile, the 780 and 783 models were conceived as living room sets and coffee tables respectively, and are composed of four elements of progressively decreasing heights, which can be stacked on top of each other to create a compact form that optimises space.
Today, the original version in walnut-stained beech wood, now available in the Karakter x Cassina catalogue, is joined by new matt lacquered finishes in the creamy Apricot and Pinot Noir shades. All the base units can be combined with a two-tone laminate top, Chocolate coloured on one side and Beige on the other, which can be flipped over to vary the colour combination, or with a new Smoke Grey smoked glass top, which gives visual lightness and depth.
