Teddy is an exclusive and comfortable lounge chair designed by Viggo Boesen in 1936.‎ The lounge chair is handcrafted in sustainable Indonesian rattan and woven by skilled wicker makers.‎ Sika-Design uses carefully selected rattan, and uses only the two best qualities called Tohiti and Manau.‎ Rattan is often compared to bamboo, but unlike bamboo which is hollow, rattan is a solid material.‎ Rattan is a remarkably strong and durable material, and therefore you get a unique design piece of furniture with high durability.‎ Viggo Boesen was known as one of the best designers in the heyday of Danish design.‎ Teddy is Viggo Boesen's interpretation of the popular ear flap chair from the mid-19th century.‎ The chair was named Teddy because of the design that resembles a teddy bear hug.‎ The name both describes the appearance of the chair, and the feeling when leaning back into the lounge chair.‎ Further info from manufacturer on TEDDY Sika Design
