Colonna reinterprets the architectural archetype from which it takes its name in a contemporary key, presenting it as a pair of side and coffee tables. The prismatic structure, clad in shaped mirrored glass, acts as a perceptual medium: it reflects the surrounding environment and fragments its image, visually lightening the volume. In this new artefact created in collaboration with Tacchini, Roberto Sironi continues his exploration of materials. The reflective sheen of glass meets the material depth of the marble top, revealing a subtle balance between monumentality and lightness, memory and abstraction. The tables become sculptural yet functional objects, capable of transforming the archetype into a minimal and rigorous gesture that adapts to its setting and to the sensory experience one wishes to evoke, thanks to the two available sizes and five marble varieties. Colonna thus becomes a meeting point between design, material and everyday gesture, reaffirming Sironi’s ability to combine function, narrative and sculpture.
