UNICAL EASYDRAIN is a concrete used in the construction of drainage pavements. Its properties, in the fresh and hardened state, cannot be measured using the typical methods of traditional concretes referred to in standard EN 206. Italian and European standards do not provide references in this regard either.
UNICAL EASYDRAIN is offered with two different maximum aggregate sizes (12 and 22 mm) to be chosen according to the type of finish desired. Both provide good crumbling resistance.
The wet-earth consistency is the optimum workability for laying, levelling and compacting with typical loose material tools. There are no standard test methods to measure it.
The workability, guaranteed 60 minutes from arrival at the site, should be sufficient for laying, given the typical application time.
During summer periods, it is advisable to agree with Unical's technicians on the optimal delivery frequency depending on the technical and human resources used for installation.
If there is a need to have guaranteed permeability, porosity and compressive strength values to support the structural and hydraulic design of the drainage pavement, or if there is a need to use a drainage concrete dedicated to a specific application, we recommend referring to Unical DRAIN products.
The UNICAL EASYDRAIN drainage concrete
The management of stormwater runoff on impermeable surfaces in large urban centres has become a priority for administrations.
The use of drainage pavements makes it possible to recharge the water table, improve the quality level of the water re-injected into the water body and reduce the runoff of rainwater that, from the impermeable surfaces of metropolitan areas, flows into watercourses during increasingly intense rainfall events.
The porosity of drainage pavements allows them to temporarily store and then reintegrate the water from the most intense rain events into the ground.
All these properties are achieved against a bearing capacity of the pavement that cannot be found in any other similar solution, such as screeds.
