VENINI
STELE I
Handmade sandblasted glass floor lamp
STELE I is a floor lamp made of sandblasted glass.
Stele is a collection of lamps designed by Arnaldo Pomodoro for Venini in 2002, whose remarkable complexity had, until now, prevented their realization.
By revisiting the original sketches, the project finally takes shape, merging the artist’s distinctive language with the craftsmanship of the brand’s artisans.
Unveiled during Milan Design Week 2025, the collection debuts in two versions: a floor lamp (180 cm) and a table lamp (60 cm), each produced in a limited edition of one hundred pieces.
The bronze base and top element evoke the artist’s signature material, while the central sandblasted crystal glass light source casts a soft, upward glow thanks to an advanced LED system.
Inspired by the columns of ancient civilizations, the lamps rise like contemporary totems, symbols of balance and beauty. They express a dialogue between solidity and lightness, between the rigor of bronze and the ethereal luminosity of glass, telling a story of memory, innovation, and formal exploration.
In a fascinating reinterpretation of his artistic language, Pomodoro envisions his intricate sculptural signs, hallmarks of his iconic bronze works, transposed onto a luminous, glass surface.
Crafted using an innovative glassmaking technique that pushed the furnace to the height of its technical mastery, the collection represents a work of exceptional complexity.
Only Venini, a custodian of ancient tradition and a pioneer in experimentation, could transform these designs into reality, giving life to a collection that is as delicate as it is bold.
