Vertigo Bird DEMIJOHN Metal pendant lamp

Arne designed the Demijohn, an intuitive continuation of Vertigo Bird’s quest to take everyday objects and turn them into sources of illumination.‎ The inspiration for the Demijohn stems from bottles; the largest and most deliciously curved ones were most often filled with intoxicatingly delicious liquids, diffracting the late afternoon light of lazy summer days and ending as a glint in the eyes of those enjoying the bottle’s contents.‎ The simple shape, consisting of two ubiquitous materials, wood and metal, appears to changes throughout the day and only fully reveals its true form once night falls.‎ That is when the fixture reveals itself in a medley of soft, warm light on natural wood.‎ The use of thin sheets of natural veneer results in every lamp being slightly different from the next.‎ Further info from manufacturer on DEMIJOHN Vertigo Bird
