MAC 002 is a surface-mounted device for wooden doors designed to ensure compliance with fire safety regulations for both new and existing doors.‎ MAC 002 can be easily fitted on new doors as well as retrofitted onto existing ones using appropriate tooling, enabling school classroom doors to be brought up to code in accordance with Ministerial Decree of 26 August 1992 “Fire prevention regulations for school buildings”.‎ MAC 002 is part of a comprehensive range of accessories for retrofitting double-leaf doors of all types to comply with fire regulations, adaptable and customizable according to specific requirements.‎ Advantages of MAC 002 Does not require six-month maintenance like panic exit devices Zero mechanical wear Vandal-resistant (particularly suitable for classroom doors) CERMET certified (Quality Research Certification) Certified by the Ministry of the Interior – Rome Fire Department Time savings during installation Machiavello can be installed on wooden, steel, and aluminum doors without requiring any modifications to accessories or keep plates Installation and Operation of MAC 002 MAC 002 consists of a nickel-plated zinc die-cast alloy (zamak) body housing a spring-loaded stainless steel ball; both spring and ball are made of stainless steel.‎ Surface-mounted on the semi-fixed leaf (both top and bottom), the device engages with two keep plates—one fixed to the floor and one to the door frame.‎ The latter can be customized according to application requirements.‎ When installed on double-leaf wooden fire doors inside a fire compartment, MAC 002 replaces flush bolts that are no longer compliant.‎ Fitted to the semi-fixed leaf, it allows standard door usage while enabling both leaves to be opened simultaneously with a simple push.‎ Machiavello leaves no floor obstructions and does not reduce the clear opening width of the door, unlike panic bars.‎ MAC 002 can be easily fitted on new doors as well as retrofitted onto existing ones using appropriate tooling, enabling school classroom doors to be brought up to code in accordance with Ministerial Decree of 26 August 1992 “Fire prevention regulations for school buildings”.‎ Since it is surface-mounted on the leaf, MAC 002 can be painted to match the exact door color within the RAL color range, in addition to all available nickel-plated finishes.‎ Installation Templates To ensure proper installation and full functionality of Machiavello devices, some products in the MAC range require the integration of one or more specific mounting kits.‎
