Ytong Y-PRO XL

The Y-Pro line of blocks and slabs in aerated autoclaved concrete has been enriched with a new, large-format product: Ytong Y-PRO XL.‎ The new Ytong Y-PRO XL partition wall has a height of 40 cm and offers great advantages in terms of speed and simplicity of construction.‎ In fact, with Ytong Y-PRO XL only 4 pieces are needed to make 1 square metre of wall, as opposed to the 16 of a traditional construction system.‎ The speed of laying is enhanced by the thin joint laying technique, to be carried out with the special trowel, which optimises operations, the quantity of material used and minimises material waste, leaving the building site clean and tidy at all times.‎ During the laying phase, the use of Ytong Y-Pro, generates less waste than traditional systems and offers the possibility of recovering block processing scraps for easy reuse.‎ The thin blocks of the Ytong Y-Pro range are ideal for creating partitions, walls and internal partitions, with optimal thermal, acoustic and fire safety performance.‎ In fact, the autoclaved aerated concrete from which the thin blocks are made, has outstanding thermal insulation values, favouring the aspect of energy efficiency and thermal comfort, between adjoining rooms that are heated differently (e.‎g.‎ between different properties).‎ In addition, its cellular structure, thanks to the air contained within it, records high sound absorption values.‎ Likewise, autoclaved aerated concrete stands out for its non-combustibility property (Euroclass A1), which makes it valuable in the event of fire.‎ Ytong blocks, in fact, do not burn and do not give off fumes, facilitating escape without creating additional danger to people in an emergency.‎Interior masonry with Ytong Y-PRO and Y-PRO XL is completed in the finishing phase with pre-mixed products from the Ytong range: the latest generation of skim coats, plasters and coatings, with further improved formulations, produced in the Xella plant in Pontenure, have optimal workability and a high recycled and by-product content varying between 12 and 22%, depending on the article, in compliance with the provisions of the C.‎A.‎M.‎ Decree and according to the LEED Protocol.‎ Finally, their composition is assimilated and consistent with Ytong blocks, thus offering perfect compatibility and homogeneity to the entire cycle.‎ More than 100 years ago, in 1923, architect and researcher Dr.‎ Axel Eriksson invented "vapor-vulcanized gas concrete" in Sweden - now known as autoclaved aerated concrete.‎ Together with Carl August Carlén, an entrepreneur, they started the first production in 1929 in Yxhult, southern Sweden, at a time of great scarcity of raw materials and stricter energy laws.‎ A competitive advantage on the market The sustainability of buildings is increasingly at the center of construction trends, with modern sustainability policies undertaken by international institutions and organizations that have favored the increase of this trend.‎ The choice of materials and construction technologies are fundamental to obtaining homes that consume less and consequently have a lower environmental impact.‎ A sustainable home can cost on average 8% more than a normal home, but this difference is compensated by numerous advantages in the long term: a healthier and more comfortable environment, significant economic savings compared to bills and a higher value of the building; It is estimated, in fact, that the value of a green property can increase from 2 to 10% with sales times halved from 8 to 4 months.‎
