Its enveloping shape is an invitation to sit at the table in a comfortable embrace that encourages conviviality.‎ PLINTEA is the new project by Chiara Andreatti for Cassina, a designer who began her career with the brand last year.‎ Plintea welcomes the body with a soft, protective gesture.‎ Its upholstered seat is developed on a flared, asymmetrical cylindrical base, an original shape projected forward that gives the model momentum, dynamism and an almost futuristic aesthetic.‎ This fluid design elegantly contrasts with the more defined lines of PLINTEA, creating a refined balance between softness and rigour.‎ Particular attention has been paid to detail in the manufacture of this small armchair: from the thin thicknesses that characterise the profiles, to the technical mastery in the construction of the backrest made in a single piece, seamless in the fabric version and with just two joints in the leather version.‎ In addition, PLINTEA is a very versatile seat that allows great freedom of combination because it is fully upholstered: available in a wide selection of fabrics and leathers from Cassina's collections, it lends itself well to different stylistic choices in response to the context in which it is placed.‎ Made like an entire dress, the upholstery is totally removable thanks to a zip located on the back of the base: a detail that perfectly accommodates the needs of the hospitality world.‎ PLINTEA is also offered in a swivel version, expanding its potential for both contract projects and domestic environments, from the study to the workstation.‎
