STACCATO is an hand knotted rug in wool and silk.‎ Goodweave certified.‎ ‘Staccato’, “I wanted a soft neutral carpet but with a crisp, edgy feel, which I manged to create using thin black lines.‎ I was imagining cutting paper with scissors at the time,” explains Dyson.‎ The double-size sample, measuring 2.‎35m x 3.‎40m demonstrates the large-scale possibilities of a Deirdre Dyson carpet.‎ Deirdre has injected a totally fresh dimension into her 2023 collection, with ten new designs that celebrate the striking effect created by interplaying angles and linear shapes.‎ Her hand sketches were transposed with design technician Nichola into computer designs, Deirdre cleverly applying her eye for colour to turn them into designs that produce different illusions.‎ Such as, a three dimensional or transparent appearance, or to give a sense of depth and distance.‎ All in all, it’s a collection that Ancient Greek pioneers of trigonometry would be delighted by – as it artistically brings their theories to life!
