TRACKS is an hand knotted rug in wool and silk.‎ Goodweave certified.‎ ‘Tracks’ – Deirdre reveals, “My challenge with this one was to give the illusion of fluid movement, but using only straight lines.‎  The light silken lines change the horizontal colour below to a lighter tone and appear to flow vertically above them.‎” Deirdre has injected a totally fresh dimension into her 2023 collection, with ten new designs that celebrate the striking effect created by interplaying angles and linear shapes.‎ Her hand sketches were transposed with design technician Nichola into computer designs, Deirdre cleverly applying her eye for colour to turn them into designs that produce different illusions.‎ Such as, a three dimensional or transparent appearance, or to give a sense of depth and distance.‎ All in all, it’s a collection that Ancient Greek pioneers of trigonometry would be delighted by – as it artistically brings their theories to life!
