MURFOR® is a prefabricated truss consisting of two parallel steel wires connected by a third continuous sinusoidal wire by means of welding points, intended for reinforcing masonry.
It is available in three versions:
Z: hot-dip galvanised, particularly suitable for high humidity;
E: coated with epoxy resin, recommended for corrosive environments;
S: stainless, recommended for masonry in aggressive environments.
MURFOR® has CE marking.
Characteristics:
Increases
strength
MURFOR® increases the compressive strength of the masonry, improves the rigidity of the construction, and prevents progressive fatigue.
Increases
the quality of the construction
The insertion of MURFOR® is extremely effective in combating the formation of cracks due to overloading, shrinkage, differential settlement;...
Technology at the service of the user
MURFOR® has a small thickness and is easily installed; its size and weight make it easy to handle on the construction site.
Improves aesthetics
MURFOR® allows traditional concrete lintels to be eliminated, resulting in visible facades of considerable value and stylistic purity
Building in seismic areas
MURFOR® allows load-bearing reinforced masonry to be built even in seismic areas in accordance with the Ordinance of the President of the Council of Ministers published in the Gazzetta Ufficiale no. 105 of 8 May 2003.
The quality of the steel meets the following requirements:
- minimum breaking strength: 550 N/mm2
- limit of elasticity: 500 Nmm2
- minimum resistance to welding point detachment: 2,500 N
- the parallel wires are ribbed in order to achieve excellent adhesion to the mortar.
Typical applications:
- Differential ground settlements
- Concentrated stresses
- Prevention of cracks in long walls
- Masonry lintels and beams
- Walls subject to lateral pressure (wind)
- Gables
- Connecting beams (corree)
- Partition walls subject to deformation
- "sister" walls
- Double walls
- Construction in seismic areas
