NUVOLATO DI GRÉ
Indoor/outdoor natural stone wall/floor tiles
Nuvolato di Gré is a natural stone belonging to the family of dolomitic breccias, extracted in the Gré area within the municipalities of Castro and Solto Collina, in the province of Bergamo, Italy. The material is characterised by a very fine grain, a compact structure and a veined, brecciated texture.
Its colour is predominantly grey, with shades ranging from lighter to darker tones. The surface may feature white calcite veins, whose natural distribution makes every slab different.
The geological formation of Nuvolato di Gré dates back to the Upper Triassic, specifically the Norian age, approximately 228 to 209 million years ago. The material forms the geological base of Ceppo di Gré and is therefore also referred to as its “mother stone”.
Nuvolato di Gré is suitable for both indoor and outdoor applications. Its compact structure and the range of available surface finishes allow it to be used for flooring, cladding, staircases, furniture elements and interior design applications.
The material is quarried underground and processed directly by Marini Marmi, which manages the different stages of production internally, from block selection to the manufacture of slabs and custom-made elements.
