NERI & HU TILE
Building automation system interface
NERI & HU TILE is a collection of smart panels developed by Moorgen in collaboration with the international studio Neri&Hu Design and Research Office, founded by architects Lyndon Neri and Rossana Hu. The series stems from the idea of transforming the control panel from a simple technological device into an element integrated into architecture and interior design, capable of harmoniously interacting with the surfaces and materials of the space.
The project draws inspiration from the tradition of tiled cladding and architectural mosaics. Each module is conceived as a single ‘tile’ with a specific function, whilst the combination of the various elements creates a coherent and customisable geometric composition. This approach allows the system to be configured according to the user’s needs whilst always maintaining a uniform and orderly aesthetic.
Modularity is one of the collection’s defining features. Buttons, dedicated lighting controls, blind management, home automation scenarios, climate control and other functions can be freely combined within a continuous grid, offering great design flexibility in both residential and contract settings.
According to the designers’ vision, the panel should not appear as an element added to the wall, but as a natural component of the space. The proportions, geometries and modular composition have been designed to facilitate seamless visual integration with the interior architecture, creating continuity between technology and design.
Part of the Moorgen Smart Panels collection, the Neri & Hu Tile series forms part of a range of devices designed by some of the world’s leading architects and designers, where home automation technology is interpreted as an architectural and decorative element.
