ROCK'N FIRE
Building automation system interface
ROCK’N FIRE is a collection of smart panels born out of a collaboration between Moorgen and Philippe Starck, designed to transform smart home control into an emotional and intuitive experience. The project interprets technology as a poetic and surprising element, capable of establishing a direct relationship between the user and the home environment through simple, immediate gestures.
The inspiration stems from a story recounted by Philippe Starck himself: a polished black stone with a golden rim found in the mountains, which, at the slightest touch, releases sparks of light and makes it possible to alter the surrounding world. From this vision, a smart panel takes shape, allowing users to control lighting, scenes and home automation functions via a minimalist yet highly evocative interface.
The Rock’N Fire series stands out for its sculptural and minimalist design, characterised by the contrast between dark surfaces and luminous details. The name itself evokes the meeting of two opposing elements: the solidity of rock and the energy of fire. This balance between matter and light becomes the design principle guiding the entire collection, where technology and design coexist in an elegant and timeless form.
Integrated into the Moorgen ecosystem, the panel enables centralised control of the main functions of the smart home, helping to create personalised environments and scenarios tailored to different times of the day. The interface is designed to be intuitive and immediate, whilst maintaining a strong aesthetic identity.
Part of the Moorgen Smart Panels collection, Rock’N Fire represents the convergence of technological innovation and the creative vision of one of the most influential contemporary designers, transforming a control device into a genuine piece of furniture.
