Environmental and legislative requirements are becoming more and more restrictive when it comes to energy efficiency.‎ In high-performance glazing, the condensation that can form on the outer surface of the glazing, in the morning and more especially in spring and autumn, is an aesthetic nuisance and impedes the view through the glass.‎ Pilkington Anti-condensation Glass was developed to prevent condensation from forming on the outer pane and thus improve the view through the windows.‎ Pilkington Anti-condensation Glass is an extra-clear glass on which a thin, transparent low-emissivity coating is deposited on the outer surface (face #1).‎ This glass prevents (in many cases) the effect of fogging by working on the temperature of the outer surface of the glass pane, which is normally very cold, and disperses less by radiation than glass without treatment.‎ It can be used as a monolithic version or assembled in double-glazing with other products in the Pilkington range.‎ It is available in 4 and 6 mm thicknesses in transoms and large sheets.‎ The pyrolytic coating is very tough, easy to clean, easy to handle and easy to process.‎ Pilkington Anti-condensation Glass can be laminated into laminated safety glass, toughened, curved and assembled into insulating glass units using standard techniques.‎
